"Open Day at Highbury hospital"

About: Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

Dementia intensive Care Unit

Joined in with the activities on the open day at Highbury Hospital, patients, carers and staff were invited to the event, to celebrate the new opening of the Dementia intensive Care Unit; we had a number of things happening on the day. We spent time in the garden were there was a Cake stall, tombola and cream Tea, which was enjoyed by all. We had lots of items for the tombola which were kindly donated by Boots. We raised £64. 60 which helps towards providing equipment towards on going activities for our patients. A nice day seemed to be enjoyed by all.

Along with the Head of Involvement (Paul Sanguinazzi), I am responsible for the Trusts two Involvement Centres, and our Volunteering and Befriending Service. I help to report all of the feedback we receive as a Trust to the Board.

We've heard lots of good feedback about the Open Day at Highbury, it's great that everyone enjoyed it so much and also that you were able to raise money for the ward.

There are some fantastic photos on the board at the Involvement Centre at Duncan MacMillan House of the volunteer band who played at the Open day, lots of happy faces!
