"Nurse had a very poor attitude"

About: The Royal Glamorgan Hospital / General Medicine

(as a relative),

My mother attended the Royal Glamorgan Hospital for a planned revisit to redress a wound following a trauma.

The nurse practitioner was rude, would not listen to either of us and repeated by saying 'I work for the NHS not either of you, so shut up ill do it my way'.

What she wasn't aware of is that my mother is indeed a matron within the NHS and I am a paramedic within the NHS. I asked her to get me a doctor as the care she was not giving was horrendous. There was a clear infection in the wound and she was refusing to give antibiotics. When the jounior doctor appeared she was lovely.

I explained to the nurse practitioner, she obviously had a life outside of work but her attitude was disgusting.

I now take my mother to Morriston in Swansea and hour away for the best care on her wound.
