"Helped to understand how I have arrived at this point in my life"

About: Inclusion Matters Liverpool

(as the patient),

I was referred to a counsellor after the sleep clinic at Aintree Hospital felt they could not help me any further.

Although the woman I saw was not a sleep "specialist, " I felt that she was very quickly able to help me see that my sleeplessness was probably due to the formation of unhelpful behaviours over a number of years which had developed in to habits. To some extent as powerful as smoking and over eating.

With her help I think I understand how I have arrived at this point in my life. More importantly I believe we have worked out strategies to overcome these habits, which I am working on with some degree of success.

I commend both the practitioners whom I saw and the service!

Dear Silver708

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience of IML.

I am very pleased that you are now in a better position to see how your behaviour has been impacting on your sleep and that new strategies are helping you sleep better.

Good luck, and I hope your sleep continues to improve.

Many thanks and best wishes

Sian
