Anything else?
A family member of mine was unfortunate enough to have had to be taken to this hospital via emergency ambulance. The level of care she received was inhumane and frankly disgusting. The staff treated her with absolutely no dignity, did not explain what medication she was being given (a cup of tablets which she was expected to swallow without being given any water whilst lying flat on her back unable to move), were rough to the level of what could only be described as assault, did not investigate thoroughly and were unprofessional in every sense, causing a huge amount of unnecessary pain and distress. They then told my family member they could leave- (without any use of her legs) without any idea of how she could get home, no offer of a wheelchair or painkillers or any follow up advice. The details of quite how outrageous the treatment was cannot be portrayed in depth on nhs choices but l would advise anyone to avoid this hospital if at all possible- from a 7 hour visit it also appears their treatment of the elderly is poor and although it seems there are the odd members of staff that care the majority of staff encountered should not be working within the healthcare profession
"Disgusting"
