About: New Cross Hospital

Anything else?

On Saturday 20th July 2013, my son and his friend were travelling from Hampshire to Manchester when my son started to feel ill. A couple of rest stops didn't fix the problem and his friend persuaded him to seek professional help. New Cross was the nearest hospital so they went straight to A&E. From this moment onwards professionalism, service and speed seem to have been much in evidence. Within a couple of hours he had been diagnosed, allocated a bed in ward A9; booked in for surgery to have is appendix removed . Wow! By Sunday afternoon the operation was complete and he was free to leave on Monday. It was all so fast that I couldn't get to Wolverhampton to visit him and to thank the staff in person. So...in this rather impersonal way I wish to thank all those who attended my son and to compliment them on their professionalism Please feel free to use this review to hit back at the Press who are always quick to report the long delays and terrible service A&E departments mete out to their patients

Thank you very much for your comments regarding your son's experience in our Emergency Department and Ward A9. I will share your comments with the teams in both directorates.

I hope that your son is feeling much better following his surgery.

Kindest regards
