What I liked

I attended for an outpatient appointment. The hospital was very clean, with cleaners in evidence in corridors and in the waiting area. There was also evidence of a hand hygiene campaign, with posters on the walls.

I was quickly moved into the clinic from the waiting area, and was seen within 10 minutes of my appointment time. The nursing auxiliary asked me to undertake an inappropriate test, but soon realised her mistake on checking my notes.

My consultation with the surgeon was quick and comfortable, in a well-appointed clinic room. Hand-washing materials were available and were used in front of me. The hygiene campaign is working!

What could be improved

I had an excellent outpatient experience, and am confident that my admission for day surgery will be every bit as comfortable.

It is hard to see how my experience could be improved.
