It was a Saturday, my GP was not available and I was feeling very, very sick. I called the 111 service for advice; they said they would send a doctor to see me between 2-3 in the afternoon. When the doctor arrived it was nearer to three.
He examined me and tested my urine – he found traces of blood in this and advised me to see my GP on the following Monday for blood tests. He did not think there was a need for any medicine until I had seen my GP.
The 111 service is very, very useful.
