"Treated and home again within an hour at Good Hope A and E"

About: Good Hope Hospital / Accident & emergency

(as the patient),

I fell at home and cut my elbow. I went to my doctor who confirmed I needed stitches.

Convinced that I would have to wait ages at Good Hope I went home, had my lunch, packed a book to read and set off.

A courteous receptionist took my details and said I would be seen within 15 minutes.

And I was! Straight into a treatment room to be stitched by an experienced male nurse who has been there for years. We chatted about the hospital (where I had worked years ago) and I was home again within an hour.
