Anything else?
Half way through our holiday and early on Sunday morning I suffered a massive heart attack, the care I received and the sympathetic way in which my wife was treated by dedicated staff in the coronary care unit was exceptional; on arrival at the hospital and from details initially received from the ambulance cardiograph via electronic link, was immediately examined and I was given a primary angioplasty, which saved my life. My wife who is disabled was transported to hospital by the paramedic and taken to the visitor’s waiting room and given refreshment whilst my operation was carried out. During my stay on the coronary care unit all medical staff from the consultant to the most junior nurse showed caring and efficiency far beyond the standards I would have expected from a NHS hospital; the cleanliness routine was strictly followed at all times, the staff always found time to communicate one to one to me and there was no 'talking down' to the patient the whole ward was kept spotless by regular cleaning and even the quality of meals provided were well above the standards I would have expected.
"No better place to have a heart attack."
