"care during hospital stay"

About: Tameside General Hospital

Anything else?

My husband has just spent 2 weeks in the Surgical Unit at Tameside Hospital, the care that he has received by all the staff has been extremely good, we cant praise them enough. He was under the care of a consultant and his team who did all they could to help my husband during his stay for an operation on a Popliteal Aneurysm. The only negative comment I have to say is that no help was put in place for when my husband came home, his mobility is a problem and I did try to find some help but without success, I have had to do that myself since he came home last Monday. Apart from that comment we can only praise the care he received, I hope these comments will be passed on to the Unit. Thank you.

Many thanks for sharing your experience with us via the NHS Choices website.

The hospital is working hard with Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council to further improve care across the entire patient journey, to ensure the best possible discharge pathways going forward.

Kind regards,

John Goodenough

Director of Nursing

‘’Would you like to help the hospital to improve its services further? We are currently looking for patients and carers to become involved in a development called “Patient Stories”. We want to know more about our services from the point of view of those who received them – what was good, bad, what could be improved, what should be changed.
