"Disappointed with A&E - Hospital Unknown "

Having arrived at A&E as a companion to some one being admitted by ambulance I was asked to check that person in.

I waited for nearly 11 minutes before anyone arrived at the reception desk.This was at approx 6 O'Clock in the morning on a Saturday.The whole place looked deserted and like the aftermath of a football match with litter every where in the waiting area.

The room that we were put in to await attention still had traces of blood on the floor and the bed frame.the ladies toilets were filthy with soiled paper blood etc.all over the floor and remained so for the four hours we were there.The nurse that came to check blood pressure etc. was very off hand and abrupt.We were then left alone for 3 and half hours and it was not until I approached staff that we were told that someone would be along at 9.30.When they arrived they could not understand what was being said to them by the patient and seemed incapable of even getting their age right.

We left feeling dirty and very let down and that we should avoid using this hospital in future.Some of the staff were considerate and helpful notably a very young nurse and a staff nurse but overall we felt that they realy could not be bothered with us and that we were wasting their time.
