I had the misfortune to have a retinal detachment in my left eye. I was under Blackpool Victoria hospital. because Blackpool Victoria hospital had put off my operation for months I had to move to Manchester in order to have this operation carried out. wen I first went to Manchester royal eye hospital I expected the same negative treatment as I had received from Blackpool Victoria hospital. I used to leave that hospital very distressed. So I arrive at Manchester eye hospital, I see the consultant who refers me to his assistant, who examined my eye and informed me that they will carry out an operation on my eye, and that they will do their best to carry out the surgery the best way passible. they did not want to do invasive surgery if possible. these people were so positive in there manner that I left the hospital that day with piece of mind, I only wish that other people who work in the health service could be as positive as these people. well I had the operation in April this year, all the nurses were wonderful they took great care of me could not have asked for better treatment. I wrote to Manchester eye hospital too thank the consultant and his team for time and effort in saving my eye sight, could not put into words how much I owe this gentlemen and his team.
