During my second birth the midwife recognised that I was slow to labour towards the end and transferred me out of the birth unit. This was very wise as despite few indications, my baby went into distress and wasn't breathing. Due to her quick thinking my baby received immediate help and following a short stay in special care is now fine. The skbu and the ward staff were all exceptional and with their support I have been able to breastfeed successfully in difficult circumstances, despite having bottle fed my first child. Fantastic facilities.
"outstanding maternity care"
