"Care for veterans"

About: Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust / Adult mental health

(as the patient),

I was diagnosed with PTSD from Afghanistan just before I left the army and was passed to the NHS for care.

Despite being assured that veterans were fast tracked I still had to wait nearly a year to be seen and then I was only allowed six appointments. As they were very infrequent and often months apart they did not help.

I was then passed around several staff none of whom seemed to know anything about PTSD. I was told that flashbacks were a very minor problem and I was using them as an excuse not to go out and that I enjoyed being ill and getting attention.

They said they had patients who were genuinely ill and they discharged me. I have just been dumped.
