"Fantastic service for shoulder problem"

About: Conquest Hospital

(as the patient),

Once I was seen in clinic by consultant Mr James Buchanan, he was very chatty and put me completely at ease. He identified the problem almost immediately and said I would need an X-ray to confirm the diagnosis. He warned me there were delays at X-ray, I know he told me the reason but I was so relieved it seemed something simple that I didn't take it in. X-ray area was pretty grim as people had to sit on the floor but staff throughout were v apologetic and I think they were understaffed. They were still v polite and friendly and I was really pleased to see how gentle they were with several frail elderly patients who came through on trolleys while we were waiting. Went back with the X-ray and Mr Buchanan did an injection into my shoulder while a junior trainee was being instructed. The pain relief was almost instant. It's made such a difference. Getting dressed and driving are not agonising now. He did say I may eventually need an operation but this doesn't worry me know as I could see I was in great hands
