Following my absolutely dire treatment at various places around Redditch trying to access mental health care, I was very pleased and impressed by the way I was treated at Redditch A&E dept. Following a crisis where I took an overdose, on the consultant who dealt with me was polite, approachable and non-judgemental. He was also very paitent when following taking my blood I felt dizzy, sadly I did not think to take his name. I later spoke to a member of the mental health team, who was just so nice and respectful toward me. He was the absolute opposite of most of the other people I have seen regarding my anxiety and depression over the past few months. He actually listened to me!!! Didn't judge me or try to make me feel silly or guilty for asking for help and cruically agreed to put in place some real help!!! I am sad that it has taken me to get to crisis point to get some treatment and from people who actually seem to care. Just one critisism of the person I spoke to at the inital interview who made a rather inappropriate comment but the rest of the team were fantastic! My visit was on the afternoon of Sunday 14th July 2013.
