My daughter has mental health problems and has not been treated very well by GPs in the past. The doctor at the Eastwood Medical Centre has been brilliant. The receptionists there are all very understanding. If I ring and say that we need to see the doctor because my daughter has problems they always fit us in.
The doctor has always taken time to listen to my daughter; she talks to her to find out how she is feeling and how the medication is affecting her. The doctor always checks how the medicine is working, whether the dose needs to be changed or something new given.
When she first saw my daughter she was so concerned about her, the doctor herself phoned the psychiatric services and arranged for a nurse to come at see my daughter at home.
The doctor is adamant she is going to get my daughter right.
Not only that, she has made sure I am also getting the support I need from the social services. Other doctors have never done this much for us.
I was given your number by the General Medical Council. I called them because I wanted the people higher up to know how good this doctor is – she is South African but I can’t pronounce her name.
