I am writing to express my gratitude to everyone on Ward 4 at Heartlands Hospital who took care of me during my recent stay. It was my second major operation in 3 months; I was at a very low ebb when admitted and in a great deal of discomfort. Everyone from the staff who served me tea and coffee and helped to sort out a very difficult diet regime, to the senior sisters who took time just to chat with me while I was walking up and down the ward helped me through probably the most difficult time of my life. I also want to say a huge thank you to the doctor and his team who took care of me during my stay and my operation. My first operation was conducted at a private hospital and the care I received at Heartlands was far superior and a great advert for the NHS in this country. Please pass on my thanks to all the staff on Ward 4; I will never forget their kindness.
