"Reassuring to know that someone can come out to see me"

About: Harmoni / NHS 111

(as a service user),

I called 111 a few times about 7 weeks ago. I am 87 and have been very poorly with a chest infection. I had to call 111 and they sent someone out to see me in the night.

I was feeling really stressed and worried but they were all very kind to me. I would be very sad if they gave up this service as I live on my own and it is reassuring to know that someone can come out to see me if I am unwell.

They wanted to take me to hospital but you know how older people are, I was feeling quite strong and I was happy to stay at home if I knew they were around.

They were all very pleasant and I was happy to talk to them, they made me feel a damn sight better.
