Anything else?
I underwent major heart surgery at the Royal Brompton in 2012 I live in Scotland, and my situation was deemed as very high risks, and no Surgeons were prepared to operate on me. I underwent a double bypass,, aortic root and arch replacement , with my aortic valve being suspended. in 2,000 at Brompton Hospital Thus to replace my suspended aortic valve, band my mitral valve etc was tricky! I spent nearly two months in Intensive Care, one night in High Dependency, back into an ordinary ward before being transferred back to Scotland. During my prolonged time in Intensive Care, I was extremely well cared for, and although having no voice because of breathing machines, feeding tubes etc, the staff from all disciplines not only looked after me physically but psychologically as well. I do not remember much following my surgery, but remember the Surgeon making time to see me every day, and telling me he would send me back to Scotland to drink the whiskey!
