In January 2013 I had my regular yearly screening mammogram, 1 week later I was called back because a lump had been found in my left breast. within the next 2-3 weeks I saw the consultant surgeon for my diagnosis, the result turned out to be cancerous, I knew that I carried the Gene, the consultant discussed thoroughly the surgical procedure and reconstruction options available. At the beginning of March I had a Bilateral Mastectomy. The treatment and care on Geddington Ward was the best!. My aftercare so far is excellent all of the nurses in the Breast Outpatients have shown great care and compassion even though they are extremely busy. They have been very understanding as I have had to return for various reasons for treatment. I would recommend the treatment centre to any of my friends. Thank you so much to all of the staff that have been involved in my treatment you are all worth your weight in gold!! Keep doing the great job you are already doing.
