Despite informing medical staff of previous medical history, asking relevant questions and requesting other options...I was deemed to be questioning the powers that be unnecessary. I received the wrong diagnosis and treatment as my consultant ASSUMED my condition. I experienced an unpleasent test which landed me in A & E. prior to my operation. Following surgery I was discharged without sufficent pain killers ( that I obtained from others) and without a course of medication which would have aided my recovery. ONLY my local GP's receptionist (to who I am truly thankful) eventually obtained this from the hospital ONE month after discharge. Very poor standard of medical ntervention, but a successful operation.Thank God.

All options disscussed..rather than leaving decisions up in the air and the patient the necessity to trawel the internet for information of their condition.

Clinics/ support group contacts. The offer of counselling.

Systematic cleaning. Also the choice of leaving the hospital ward to meet relatives if you are able to. Rest without intrusive interruption in the night and during your stay to aid recovery.
