"Life savers"

About: Royal Bolton Hospital

Anything else?

The doctor and their team, including their amazing secretary, are still keeping my terminally ill father alive, at home and happily watching his Sky Sports, for well over a year after he was 'signed off' by Christies, as nothing more could be done and he had weeks not months left to him. I am eternally grateful that the way they manage life/death decisions and prioritise their limited resources allows him to spend precious extra months with his wife who has Alzheimer's, is terrified with strangers, and will have to go into a home when he dies. If you have a specific concern or constructive feedback, speak to the secretaries or PALs, and they will do their utmost to help. No system is perfect! And if you are reading these reviews before you start treatment - rest assured - you are in the best of hands and nowhere, including Manchester Trusts, will take better care of you! This Department is genuinely one of the best in the North of England - and I work with many in the course of my job - I just wish more were run on similar lines, and had as dedicated and caring, committed staff as Ive encountered here! They do a fantastic job! And the doctor genuinely works miracles.

This must be a very difficult time for you and your family and we really appreciate that you have taken the time to let us know your views. Those extra days must be so precious to you all and our staff will be really touched that their care has helped you all to enjoy them.
