"Diabetic Ante-Natal Clinic, Exemplary!"

About: Orpington Hospital

Anything else?

I have attended the diabetic ante-natal clinic for the past 20 weeks with gestational diabetes during my pregnancy. I have to say the department is wonderful. From the consultant diabetologist who is warm, engaging and completely involves you in your own care, to the nurses who support you through what is a difficult time, especially if you need to start insulin injections! The receptionist is also amazing, warm, friendly, professional and intuitive to what you need! My consultant who leads the obstetric team is cool, calm, knowledgeable and completely accommodating of my needs and fears, wonderful team!! My only criticism of the hospital is main entrance reception... which is important as they are the first port of call for a lot of people. I find them rude, unapproachable and unhelpful. Never a smile, no warmth and you always feel like you are imposing!
