About: North Tyneside General Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

Following a telephone consultation with my GP's receptionist I was advised to attend North Tyneside General Hospital A&E department to check out a possible heart condition.

When I got there I was greeted by a very polite receptionist who advised that my partner and I went straight through to the clinic. We were then shown to a cubicle by a polite skilful nurse who immediately performed an ECG, blood pressure and body temperature and ensured that I was feeling comfortable. Within minutes I was seen by a senior nurse who put me further at ease. In addition to this I was seen by a charming doctor called Nigel who was excellent and informative with my partner and I.

Overall the whole service provision was superb, well done to A&E

Dear Dave

Thank you so much for sharing the very positive experience you had at our A&E department. It is important to all our staff that our patients feel comfortable and at ease during what can be a very worrying and frightening time.

Thank you also for taking the time to acknowledge the contribution of the different members of the team - we know that all our staff have a part to play in excellence. I will ensure that your kind comments are shared with them all. I am sure that Nigel will be extra pleased to hear what a difference he made.
