"Catalogue of disasters"

About: Lincoln County Hospital

Anything else?

Without going into lengthy descriptions, over the past few years my husband has been very poorly served by this department. Each time he goes, he sees a different doctor, who disagrees with the previous doctors decisions, hence nothing actually being done for the past 2 years. Appointments missed because we were never informed of them. Appoinments cancelled without informing us, even when my husband sat there for an hour and a half, no one told him it was cancelled, even though he had booked in with the receptionist. The nurses seem to be the most reliable and competant, and some of the doctors were extremely dubious, re-diagnosing specialists diagnosis and dismissing a genuine life threatening illnesses as "nothing to bother about, it won't cause you much problem"

Your story whilst brief told of a host of issues and difficulties and your frustration and distress were plain to see. I am really sorry you have had such a hard time - I am wondering whether it would be useful to have someone senior review your husbands care and agrees a way forward so that you are not being shuffled between different doctors? Clearly to set this up I would need some details....if you think this would help then please contact me directly at: jennie.negus@ulh.nhs.uk and I will do all I can to help.
