"terrible treatment of young sick child"

About: Chippenham Community Hospital

Anything else?

My 5 year old grandaughter was taken to the minor injuries unit, as it is only five minutes from her home, she's extremely poorly. she has been vomiting, is freezing cold to touch and sweating. The doors were locked ( it's now 12.15am) and the jobsworth who answered told my daughter to go away as the child isn't injured. My daughter is begging for help and asked to see a nurse at least. The josworth has told her that the nurses aren't qualified to see the child and there isn't a doctor there to help either. He won't give his name, but has told my daughter to go away from the front door, and told her to phone nhs direct for advice. Then he turned off all the lights , leaving them in total darkness. God help this man's conscience and those nurses who 'aren't medically qualified to help' if this turns out to be something terrible. They should all hang their heads in shame. This is NHS Britain today?? Ironic part?? Daughter has phoned NHS direct and they have said a doctor wll call back shortly and probably tell her to go to Chippenham hospital as it is her nearest one!! You really couldn't make it up
