"Child visit to A&E led to vomiting and diarrhoea"

About: Northwick Park Hospital

Anything else?

I had to visit A&E with my son for a head injury. This was dealt with appropriately, but since the visit, my son, husband and I have has severe vomiting and diarrhoea. I attribute this to the hospital visit as others have eaten the same as us and have not complained of any D&V. I rang to notify the department that we were ill as a result of our visit and was asked "how do you know it's from here?" I was doing a public service in notifying the department as I do not want others to suffer like we are. Please use the anti-bacterial gel points people - they are there for a very good reason.

Thank you for your feedback. We were sorry to learn that you became unwell soon after visiting our A&E department and appreciate you calling the department to advise them of this. We regret that your call was not dealt with in an appropriate manner. Your comments will be passed on to the A&E Management Team for action. We hope that you, your son and your husband are now feeling better.
