Anything else?
In the wake of the report of neglect at Mid Staffs and the criticisms of reconfiguration of A&E provision in Gloucestershire, I wanted to provide a counter view of how the NHS is doing. This week I had an operation on my shoulder at Cheltenham General, I was nervous as I’d never had a general anaesthetic before and wasn’t sure what to expect. From my arrival to book in through to going home I received exemplary care. The whole experience was efficiently handled and the communication, attention and reassurance I received was first rate. My comfort was regularly checked and everything I needed was provided whether it was pain relief or a biscuit that I needed! I want to extend my thanks to the consultant and their orthopaedic team for not only dealing with my shoulder but for doing it in such a friendly and professional way. I hope this letter will provide an illustration of the NHS at its best.
"Thanks to the Orthopaedic team"
