Anything else?
Visited my GP about four weeks ago after noticing a lump in my groin, they confirmed my thoughts that it was a hernia , and arranged an appointment there and then at a clinic at Broadgreen Hospital. They stated that after my initial examination at the hospital I would probably be delt with within 6 - 10 weeks. I attended clinic on Tues 18/6/2013, and my consultant confirmed the need for an operation, explained the possible risks and arranged for my pre op assesment. The very next day I had a call from my consultants secretary asking if I could come into hospital on Sunday 23/6/2013 as they were operating that day. Obviously I said yes,and duly turned up at 7.30 on Sunday morning , to a modern clean welcoming hospital, and onto a ward that was light airy and spotlessly clean. The procedures were explained again to me fully, was asked what I wanted for my evening meal from a comprehensive menu [ the food turned out to be very good ] and on my return from surgery was monitored closely by the attentive staff, Considering all the bad press about the health service at the moment ,I thought I should let people know there is a very good side to it.
