"mnd diagnosis"

About: Leicester General Hospital

Anything else?

i have just printed off from your website a docment entitled "telling the diagnosis of mnd". my husband was given the diagnosis without this being adhered to. in a room, facing the consultant, just him, not even a family member for support, given the news, told to pick up a prescription, nurse would make contact in the next couple of week-come back in 9 months time. we even doubt the credibility of the consultant as he seemed to make a snap decision on that day. we have since sought private treatment and it still isn't clear that he has mnd and with mnd not having a definitive test, we are left with this hanging over our life-it has just about destroyed us. we are just watching and waiting to see if this develops into something more. i could go on further but i will save that for the formal complaint.

I am very sorry to read about this very upsetting experience for your husband and I would very much like to discuss this with you. I note you are sending in a formal complaint which is of course your right but my concern is that you suggest you have not had any contact from a nurse and I would like to get the details of this so I can investigate this further and ensure you get the support you need. If you would like to contact me (Andy Palmer) or my operational manager (Aimee Geary) on 0116 258 6079 we would very much like to hear from you so we can talk this through properly. Thank you Andy Palmer Deputy CBU Manager – Medical Specialities
