My Mum was admitted to the A&E dept on 4.6.13 following a collapse at home. Within an hour she had had a CT scan of her brain, and had been assessed by a Consultant Stroke specialist. She was subsequently moved to the Aute Medical Unit (C21) and then to C24. The care she received in every dept was superb, particularly on C24 where she was seen by the speech and language team, the Occupational therapy team and the Physiotherapist who discussed their assessments in detail with the family. The nurses both qualified and unqualified were caring, friendly and professional, nothing wqs too much trouble for them. Mum was also assessed by social services to see if there was anything they could offer to help on discharge. She went home on the 18.6.13, and has received an appointment for a further scan early next month. As a retired nurse myself I understand the pressure the staff work under, and have nothing but admiration for each and every one who dealt with my Mum. Well done all, keep up the excellent work.
"Excellent care from admission to discharge."
