"Thanks for your care and attention"

About: Lister Hospital

Anything else?

I want to say “Thank You” to the staff in A & E, the Acute Assessment Unit and A & E x ray departments for the care and attention they gave me after I was taken to A & E as a precaution by Paramedics last Saturday morning, 15 June. All the staff worked as a well co-ordinated team, mixing and matching their duties to cope with my situation and that of many other patients at the same time. I was greatly impressed. The staff were always friendly, reassuring and kind to me and my wife. Thankfully, my situation turned out to be not serious, a ‘false alarm’, and after a day spent in the reassuring environment of Lister Hospital I was allowed home. Please convey my Thanks and Good Wishes to the staff - much appreciated.

Being in an emergency department can be quite a scary and sometimes even frustrating experience - and even more so when brought in by paramedics. There's always the concern that something serious is happening, but often our doctors and nurses can't say too much until their tests have been run - the risk is too great to worry someone unduly or give them false reassurance. It seems like our teams in the Lister's emergency department, acute assessment unit and radiology got the balance just right. We know that this is what they do day in, day out - but we also know they will be delighted to read your kind words. Thank you.
