My problem started when I retired, after a certain length of time it started to dawn on me that I was getting old, even though I felt a lot younger, physically and mentally. You start to think that, that's it, what else is there. Kids gone, married, no work to get up for, so I was bored and then depressed, my confidence was affected and I became stressed and being short tempered with people.
So I took a step back and decided that I would speak to my GP, who initially put me on prozac, but I returned them unused. I felt I didn't want medication, I just needed to get my life back, so I went to Inclusion Matters via my GP.
My therapist was Donna, she was a great listener which is what I needed, she made me see that I needed to get back in to some kind of work, voluntary etc, that this would give me back my confidence and stop the boredom and stress.
The answers were already there, but she made me see them for myself. I am now a lot better and plus the sun has come out, HOORAY!
