My father was recently an in patient on this ward The care was poor, basic care, washing, shaving, mouth hygiene wasn't performed on a daily basis, one day my father had half his face shaved, the male nurse left him half way through and didn't return Nursing staff were not able to answer basic questions and said they weren't allowed to look in medical notes, for X-ray reports etc There wasn't any TV or radio in his room, the other occupants were all in various stages of dementia, all my father could do was spend the days staring at the toilet door We were told that my father would have several investigations, these were never done. The staff were pleasant but seemed to lack leadership I hope no one in my family ever has to go to this ward
