My 82 year-old father was given an 'urgent' appointment at the behest of his GP, for 28th June 2013. He subsequently recieved a letter confirming his appointment on 15th August 2013. When he rang to clarify the situation, he was told that the original appointment had been cancelled by the department and no reason was given. This is completely and utterly unacceptable!
