Roadshow kicks off campaign to get Staffordshire patients talking

A health watchdog is launching a roadshow of events to encourage more patients to share their views on local healthcare services. Staffordshire LINk will hold five public consultations in hospitals and libraries from May 9 until May 20.

The drive comes as figures from NHS feedback website Care Opinion show that only 249 of the 29,200 total postings on the site come from Staffordshire patients. Care Opinion will work with Staffordshire LINk at the events to persuade more people to give their feedback about their expereinces of health services.

Care Opinion’s Engagement Officer for the West Midlands, Danielle Hopley, said: “NHS staff in Staffordshire want to hear what local people have to say about healthcare services in the county, but so far not many people have left comments on Care Opinion.

“We need to hear what more patients and carers think of their healthcare services. If you’ve been treated recently then come and share your experience.

“We work closely with trusts to ensure your voice is heard and in many cases your feedback and suggestions result in real improvements to services.

“Even if you can’t attend any of the events, post your story, good or bad, on Care Opinion and we will do our utmost to ensure you get a response from the staff who treated you.”

Director of Staffordshire LINk, Jackie Owen, said: “Undertaking these events jointly with Care Opinion presents a great opportunity for the people of Staffordshire to record their experiences and concerns about health and social care services in one place knowing that the main agencies responsible for listening to patients are working together.”The full list of events are as follows:
