I attended with my father today who has dementia. I'm a nurse myself so fully accept the challenges my colleagues face especially on a busy day like today. Please whoever reads this could you consider these points:
When a gentleman with dementia is trying to explain to you that her husband won't be able to recall what happened when you ask him three times, please believe her, she knows better than you do. Talking over her isn't acceptable.
Water provision- its extremely warm today and all your refreshment vending machines are out of order and the only way for poorly people to get water is to ask for a drink off reception...God help those who are on their own. If people throw these around as you say then perhaps consider a cup dispenser unit and possibly swap to paper instead of plastic.
As always I respect my nhs colleagues but these small things matter.
