"Waiting time"

About: Royal Albert Edward Infirmary

Visited the ae walk in centre with husband on advice of gp due to low blood pressure and high heart rate. Booked in ..4 hrs waiting time..how ever was seen and had ecg and bloods done in 20 mins...advised bloods were taking 2hrs sat and waited..waiting room was chaos..one patient sat in a wheelchair sleeping something off..was verbally abusive to staff who were trying to stop h falling and banging his head on the floor..

Waiting for results 4hrs plus..had lots of time to talk to other patients who had similar waiting time and longer. Staff brilliant and under a lot of pressure...coffe and sandwiches handed out followed by water..eventually called by doctor and walked to ambulatory assement unit saw a lovely and informative doctor..who reviewed ecg and redid BP... and advised to reduce medication and inform our own gp

...this took from11.00am to 5pm...on leaving the hospital I noticed the waiting time to see a doctor was advised as 10hours...I understand why the staff deserve a payrise ...

Thank you for taking time to post your feedback on your husband’s attendance at A&E. I am sure that the staff will appreciate your kind words and understanding when I share them with the team.

Yours Sincerely

Emma Swift
