I can't say I was looking forward to my colonoscopy at the Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals Endoscopy unit in Doncaster but I needn't have worried. The specialist screening practitioner contacted me a few days beforehand and explained clearly what would happen and what I needed to do in advance (covid test, 6-day diet, and laxative). On the day, my appointment started exactly on time. The team (apologies I don't recall everyone's name) were exemplary and all members made every effort to look after me while performing the procedure with great professionalism. The procedure was painless and although I had nitrous oxide/air available on demand I didn't use it after the first minute or so. Every step was explained to me clearly and my questions were answered clearly. It was really interesting being able to see everything the doctor was seeing on the monitor and quite educational. There were no side effects and my gut was back to normal after a few days. I don't want to have a repeat colonoscopy (obviously) but if I do need one I'd be pretty relaxed about it. 5-star treatment and process.
"Very professional colonoscopy procedure"
