"A visit to the X-ray department"

About: North Devon District Hospital / Radiology (X-ray)

(as a service user),

I attended the X-ray department at North Devon District Hospital for a follow up DXA Scan. I was seen on time with an apology for this scan being overdue due to Covid but that is hardly the department’s fault and I have no complaints on that.

The radiographer was friendly and professional from start to finish and I felt he took a genuine interest in his job and the well-being of his patients.

The whole procedure was painless and comfortable and I was well informed of what steps would be taken next.

I am a Diagnostic Radiographer with many years experience of working, and imaging patients, in all areas of the Radiology department. I am also responsible for the governance in Radiology and so make sure that we are compliant with the many ionising radiation regulations that dictate what we can and can't do in radiology, keep the patients and staff safe and ensure we are practicing safely. I also deal with our policies and procedures and oversee compliments, complaints and quality.

Dear Torrington Tina,

Thank you for taking the time to leave positive feedback following your DXA scan. The DXA team are working hard to ensure that the waiting times for their patients are reduced as we come out of the pandemic however there is still some work to do.

I am glad to hear that your examination was comfortable and painless and that your overall experience was good; I will pass on your kind feedback to the DXA team who will be pleased to receive it.

Kind regards

Gill
