(as a service user),

 I contacted One Recovery in March 2022 as I needed help with my alcohol addiction..

From the first phone call with the receptionist I felt I was doing the right thing by getting help, she was very friendly, helpful and understanding of my problem and circumstances.

I was assigned to Caroline as my main case worker and I would like to say from the first phone call, I felt at ease and I knew from the beginning that she was going to be supportive and help me to get through what was at the time one of the most difficult points of my life..

My dad was diagnosed with cancer in 2021, I couldn't cope. My relationship broke down and my alcoholism started getting worse and worse to the point I was drinking up to 30 odd units daily..

Caroline helped me not only reduce my drinking in the safest way possible, but supported me through some really low times and went out of her way to ensure I was mentally and physically stable by offering me extra support such as talking to me and guiding me with regular phone calls, group therepy, writing an alcohol diary with details of my daily alcohol intake, my mood, my eating habits, sleeping habits and talked me through the patterns and advised me on what I was doing right and things that I could change..

I felt like I had no self worth or any reason to be in the 

I was at an all time low..

Since being on this programme I have not only reduced my drinking to 7 units a week and completely in control, but I am now in full time employment and I am really enjoying it, I have less anxiety attacks, have reduced my antidepressants and sleeping aid and my confidence has gone through the roof..

Thank you to all the team that have liaised with me at One Recovery Aylesbury but most of all to Caroline for being my guide and mentor as it were.. Your support, guidance and consistent encouragement has changed my life and I will be eternally grateful for all the things you've helped me with..

I would happily refer anyone that needed the help that I needed to One Recovery as I know they would not be judged and would be in safe hands.
