"Menopause "

About: Wellington Medical Practice

Rang on Wednesday lunchtime & after a 15 minute wait was answered by a friendly receptionist who took down my details, asked why I was calling & asked for a brief outline of my reason for calling. I was asked to hold, within a couple of minutes I was told that I would receive a call later the same day.

Late afternoon I received a call from one of the Nurse Practitioners. They introduced themselves, knew I was calling for help with my menopause symptoms & asked me to elaborate to enable them to give me the best guidance. After a few more questions I was told there would be a prescription waiting for me at a local pharmacy, the Nurse Practitioner went into detail about the medication, how best to use it, possible side effects etc. I wasn't rushed or made to feel I was an inconvenience & was advised if there were any problems after starting the medication to call back. There will be a review in 3 months time to check how I was feeling & if it was working.
