"Lack of facilities"

About: Royal United Hospital

Appointment at 2.10pm Saturday 30/07/22 arrived approximately 40 minutes early as travelling from Devizes to allow plenty of time. Parking facilities very good. However on arrival at entrance concourse Friends shop closed, concourse cafe shut and Friends cafe shut, some self service machines available but instructions not very clear. When going to appointment at the hearing centre ( Block C 2nd floor ) noticed restaurant in Block C open. No signs in Main entrance to inform anyone of its location or opening hours. Appointment excellent, on time and very quick. Returned to restaurant for a cup of coffee and noticed that they were taking away the hot food and closing down. We had been approached previously in the main entrance by an older lady who was visiting her very sick husband and was quite distressed as she could find nowhere to get something to eat. This was before we found the restaurant at the other end of the hospital so were unable to help her. Onthe way out my wife went to the toilet and came back saying that the toilets were filthy and there were quite a few that were not working or broken. All in all the actual appointment was well carried out but if you are going to have appointments on a Saturday afternoon you should at least have facilities for people to have a break and refreshment before or after their appointment.
