"Everything has been grand except the noise"

I came to the Emergency Department at Daisy Hill Hospital after collapsing. My experience in A&E was ok and all the staff were grand.

I was then transferred up to the Male Medical Ward. Everything has been grand up here except for the noise on the ward, especially from other patients. All the staff members have been grand and their communication with me has been alright.

Any food I have had has been absolutely grand.

As I have mentioned, the only improvement I can think of would be if there could be less interference and noise on the ward.

We are delighted to hear that your experience has overall been a positive one. I apologise for the noise on the ward from other patients. While we strive to keep noise to a minimum, this can not always be achieved in an open bay and unfortunately there are are limited side rooms which are needed for infection reasons. I am pleased to hear that staff have communicated well with you throughout your stay - we strive to involve patients in their care and ensure that they know exactly what is happening throughout.
