I was referred to the clinic today by one of the excellent GPs at my surgery Kingsway Medical Centre, due to a potential fracture in my DIP joint of my finger which had happened a few weeks ago. It had been increasing in pain over the past few days and the GP agreed it should be x-rayed in case further treatment was required.
Within two hours of the GP discussion, I had attended Gartnavel General fracture department and been x-rayed by a very kind and attentive radiographer called Lillian. She couldn't have been more helpful, talking me through every stage of the assessment, and making sure I was comfortable and informed throughout. She went out of her way to ask a consultant radiologist to view the images before I left, and helped direct me back to where my car was parked after the consultation.
Lillian is a huge asset to the NHS and her kindness and high standards of patient care is valued enormously by patients like me. Many thanks to all the team who helped me.
