"Podiatry staff really made the difference"

About: Community Foot Protection Team / Podiatry Ballymena

(as the patient),

I was diagnosed with Diabetes in 2018. I may have had it prior to this, but did not take it as seriously as l should have. I developed an infection on my middle toe and was sent to podiatry to check it out.

This turned to be life changing, possibly life saving. The infection was an ulcer, one of diabetes favourite attacking methods, and one that led to the death of my father.

The podiatry staff correctly read me the riot act in the kindest and most professional way. They suggested and promoted me for My Desmond training, which turned out to be a real eye opener and made me understand more about diabetes in one afternoon that l could have understood in a lifetime.

However it was the care and attention l received from the podiatry staff in Ballymena that really made the difference. The toe is now healed, thankfully and certainly my health is improving everyday.
