"Care given in Admissions"

About: Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance Victoria Hospital / Admissions Unit 1 (Emergency Medical) Victoria Hospital / Respiratory Medicine

(as a relative),

My aunt was admitted with severe skin infection, dehydration needing oxygen and also had pneumonia. She was in for 5 days before being moved to Ward 41. She was given excellent care by everyone in Admissions.  I found them caring attended my aunt every 2/4 hours. Can’t thank them enough as my aunt is now at home almost like her old self. We all thought at 88 she may not have made it.

Thank you very very much. I would also like to thank wards 41 and 6 who contributed to her care and release after 2 weeks. A wee mention for Kelly from Lochgelly who was lovely. Also the ambulance crew who brought her to the hospital they were gentle and caring. Huge thank you from my aunt and from myself (her niece)

I would have liked to have been communicated to mor when my aunt was moved to another ward and on when they were going to discharge her.

Dear Tooaz

Thank you for your kind words about the crew that attended your aunt.

It must have been a very stressful time for you but hope that she is feeling better.

If you would like me to pass your thanks to the crew and have them commended could I ask that you contact our Patient Experience Team at sas.feedback@nhs.scot with your details, including your name, username, your aunt's name and the date and address where we attended.

Kindest regards

David

Dear Tooaz

Many thanks for taking the time to give feedback regarding the care of your Aunt. I will ensure that your kind feedback is given to the teams involved. I also note the improvement you would have liked to see and will ensure this is discussed also.

It must have been a difficult time for you all as a family to see your Aunt unwell and I am delighted that she made such a good recovery and is now home, please pass on my best wishes to her.

Kind Regards

Wendy Hutchison
