"The staff were working their hardest"

About: Daisy Hill Hospital / Elective Overnight Stay Centre/Gynaecology Ward Daisy Hill Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

Came into accident and emergency and it was very very busy. The wait was long but that is to be expected with all the people there. The waiting room was full and had to wait a while on a bed. The care was fine, it sort of felt like they wanted you out of their hair as soon as possible.

The staff were working their hardest to try and get everyone seen to as soon as possible but, you can tell they are stressed out.

Female surgical is good I cannot complain about it at all. The food is decent and the place is clean, that is all I really care about. The only thing that is annoying is the toilets and showers are so far away and you sometimes have to wait since they are being used.

The staff here are the best, they always look to be enjoying their job and are willing to have the craic with you which I like. They keep me in the loop of what is happening with my care and my results.

Overall, very happy with everything.

Thanks for your positive feedback on your experience through the hospital. We apologise for the long wait experienced in the Emergency Department, unfortunately this is an ongoing issue due to the significant number of patients delayed in the ED waiting on an inpatient bed on the ward becoming available. This is the biggest contributor to lengthy waiting in ED as cubicles are blocked.

We hope you are recovering well and you had a good relationship with staff throughout and well informed.
