About: Gartnavel Royal Hospital / Mental Health

(as a service user),

It happened in the middle of July. After lots of depression and total despair I tried to take my life.  Suicide. Not nice word, not a nice action. 

I will spare you all the details and cut to where I am now, on Henderson ward, Gartnavel .

I've been here been for some 19 days and now and can honestly say with my hand on my ❤  the staff, and bank staff, and agency staff have gone above and beyond.  I would not be able to sit here and write this if it was not for their kind caring nature.  I have received so much support. I feel humble because I did it to myself. It wasn't a traffic accident or another accident.  These people are true heroes and I owe them so much.

I still have have many weeks to go in my treatment but I want to say this now 

Thank you  so much for helping me.

I like to also thank all the cleaning and cooking staff, you all do such an amazing job that Henderson would not be a ward with out you.

The food is delicious 😋. 

Well done Henderson ward,

Dear Bigdave

I really appreciate you taking the time to leave such lovely feedback in regards to your experience of attending the Henderson Ward of the Gartnavel Royal Hospital.

This must have been really difficult to write so thank you for having the courage to tell us your story and show your appreciation for the treatment and care you have received.

I was delighted to hear all the staff you have come across have shown you support and understanding in a caring nature. I know you must have felt vulnerable in your time of need so to hear of the wonderful treatment and care you have received was very humbling.

I will be sure to pass on your thanks to all the staff mentioned including the staff in the ward, the cleaners and catering staff who I'm sure will be touched to read your story.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all the best with your ongoing treatment from myself and the staff within the Gartnavel Royal Hospital.
